“What’s Not To Like?”

Most people stay in Ayuthaya for one, two or three nights. We stayed for 16 nights because we wanted to experience the place rather than simply see it and pass through. This is probably the hotel we will remember most clearly (and for all the right reasons!) of all those we have stayed in while having at least three holidays a year for thirty years.

A Heritage Habitat

..…There’s a new kid on the block that gives visitors modern comforts while basking in the rich history of Siam . And the new hotel is just across the 715-acre Ayutthaya Heritage Park . It is probably the only hotel that has a perfect view of Wat Putthaisawan, on the south bank of the Chao Phraya River . The temple is said to have been built in the 14th century by King Ramathibodi I, the founder of Ayutthaya …

…The boutique hotel called i u Dia is tasteful with the perfect combination of the old and the new. It speaks so much of what is Thailand now- in touch with its heritage but modern in many ways…

A perfect sojourn to the former Thai capital…

…The decor is unmistakably Thai comprising wooden furniture and antiques, but the design is hip and modern. I stayed in a Courtyard room named Samuel White, which does not exactly face the Chao Phraya but I could still enjoy a view of the river looking out my bathroom window. From the swimming pool in its backyard you are rewarded with a great view of a big chedi on the opposite bank.

Surrounded by stunning views and soft river breeze, I felt relaxed sitting, eating and chatting by the poolside. My night-long stay at iudia proved a perfect sojourn to the former Thai capital.

The best to chill out before/after Bangkok

We loved this property and will recommend a stay to anyone who will listen. We used it to get over the trip form Aus to Thailand, before plunging into Bangkok hurly burly, We spent a coupel of days there exploring Ayutayah by 'uncle's' Tuk Tuk and enjoyed our stay enormously.

Could easily spend more time in Ayutayah especially if you love elephants, beautiful temples, whole and broken, or just chilling out in a beautiful property with great facilities for indoor and outdoor relaxations. Loved it!

Others have mentioned the navigation issue. We arrived at BKK airport about 11:15pm, hired a limo, armed with the address of the property on the Agoda confirmation sheet, the drive is about an hour, then we were treated to seeing every street in Ayatayah and surrounding district by night for another hour and a half. Called into other hotels seeking directions and eventually stopped, stole wifi and looked up a phone number on the laptop. Even after calling the property it took a while to find (disguised as a cofee shop). Take all the info you can, phone numbers etc...
